The health and safety of our employees are our top priorities. We invest intensively in occupational health and safety, so that our employees can feel safe and comfortable.


At the Datteln power plant, Mr. Günter Rehr is responsible for occupational health and safety. He is at the nerve centre of the power plant administration. For Matthias Hube, the power plant manager, occupational health and safety is of the highest priority. “It is incredibly important that every employee is aware that each one of us is responsible for our own safety. This is also a particularly important management task, and managers must also set a good example!”


Regular instruction and equipping staff with the respective personal protection equipment form just the basis of this. A long-term raising of awareness regarding the topic of “working safely” is the main component of the work involved for the safety officers at the power plant.


Employee health care is also of considerable importance at E.ON Kraftwerke. Using various measures, we promote the fitness and the healthy well-being of our employees. To secure our employees’ ability to work and their well-being in the long term, we are always looking for ways of keeping older employees within the work force and benefitting from their experience for longer - in a practical way.


From protection against influenza to smoking cessation treatment


In 2006, E.ON Kraftwerke further developed its comprehensive health care package. It ranges from medical prevention and after care, such as immunization against influenza and cancer screening through alterations of habits, such as nutrition and smoking cessation courses to well-being, such as anti-stress training and social counseling services. We also organize sport and leisure facilities to help employees keepfit.


We are particularly keen to promote work / family life as a whole, so as to increase the balance and the well-being of our employees.
