Datteln - a clean performance for the environment


Flue gas purification is carried out via: nitrogen removal by means of primary measures at the boiler firing and flue gas nitrogen removal plant (catalytic converter SCR procedures with NH₃), dust removal by means of an electric filter and sulfur removal by means of a DESOX plant.


It is necessary to have a well-structured organisation in order to achieve our site objectives and environmental protection measures. The existing environmental protection organisation has proven itself over the years and it has been possible for it to continue in its original form. For the power plant groups West 1 and 2 of E.ON Kraftwerke GmbH, there is an independent environmental protection area in which all the tasks of the company’s officers for environmental protection, from waste management officers through the emissions protection officers and right up to the environmental management officers (EMO) and CO₂ coordinators can be monitored and coordinated together.
