Responsibility towards our society is a fundamental principle behind the corporate actions of E.ON Kraftwerke GmbH. It is according to this principle that E.ON Kraftwerke perceives a committed social responsibility at all of its sites. In this way, the company promotes, among other things, the facilities, projects and events that serve to train and educate children and young people. E.ON Kraftwerke is particularly concerned with supporting early child development. This is why in Datteln, E.ON Kraftwerke has maintained long-term partnerships with primary schools and nurseries located in the vicinity of the power plant site – in the neighborhood.


It is for a variety of reasons that E.ON Kraftwerke is involved: In principle, the support of children and young people is an important investment for the future, and, represents a consistent extension of our traditionally major involvement in training and education. In doing this, we are also involved in the civil commitment of our employees.


Helping people to help themselves


The E.ON power plant Datteln has nurtured a very successful partnership with the Catholic primary school in Meckinghoven. In addition to providing financial support for school meals for the children and the procurement of experimental kits for personal and social education, on 08.01.2007 E.ON Kraftwerke was able to make a donation to the school development office. This was used to employ a part-time social education worker for one year. The latter will support the work of the teachers in the area of diagnostics and the individual support of children with learning and difficulties in social, emotional and / or motor functions.
